4-9-18 load 'em up!

Another moving day is upon us!  This time the kids are heading 2.5 hours South to Perry, Ga.---a little south of Warner Robins.   They're also moving into a house they're purchasing, not renting.  They figure they'll be there for awhile.  I hope so!  This uncertainty was hard for us as well as them since we're following them around.

They had hoped to get a relocation package that covered the full cost of the move.  But they apparently have more then the average people and to have movers pack and move them would be twice what they're getting.  So---back to packing.  In a way, it should have been easier then their last move---no remodeling going on; no house to sell; no 1200 miles to go----but this time they do have a baby!  So my job was to go over and babysit while Angie packed and packed and packed.  Then when moving day came, they hired loaders to pack up a 26' and a 20' U-Haul truck.  I really admire those loaders!!!  They work hard!!!  Oh to be young and strong again!!!!  Just sitting with Layla wore me out!  Looks like it wore her out, too.

Some of the stuff before the loaders got there.  Angie and Josh even bought a new sectional couch which they left wrapped in its original plastic for the move.
Josh and Ken picked up the trucks around 10am.
Getting ready to get started.  No, stuff wasn't brought into the garage ahead of time to make loading easier!  Their garage was that full the whole 2 years they were there.
the loaders are here.
and it begins

for future reference---for when we move.
Even while the loaders where there, Angie had lots to pack.
It was interesting watching the guys come in and look for just the right size item
Layla giving them her thumbs up---in her sleep, none the less!
These guys are worth their weight in gold---they had those trucks packed to the gills.
7 hours later (with an hour off for lunch)  and both trucks were loaded.  Originally they were reserved for 3 hours.  Sure glad they were able to stay and finish the job.
Satisfied customers along with a hard working team.
Then we headed over to our apartment for the night.  Closing wasn't until the next afternoon. Micky enjoying one of Ken's thrift store finds.
Molly enjoying the carpet.
A long day!  The middle of another long moving process!  But so far, so good!
