4-11-18 unloading the trucks for Angie and Josh and looking for a rental house for Ken and me:
A bit of a late start today. The un-loaders claim Angie reserved them for 1pm. She thought it was for the morning. With having to get the trucks back before 5, I think they had another job first and didn't want to admit their mistake.
So stuff was unloaded quickly and a lot of it was just shoved in the garage.

Our job done----watching Layla and the pups some more----Ken and I were off to see a couple houses. I love the countryside along the way.
We had time before our first viewing, so we drove to a house in Bonaire that I had wanted to see that had gone under contract that morning.
Seems like Bonaire has a lot of newer subdivisions. But that meant fewer trees. It was also farther from Perry then I expected. But this was the sister property of the one I wanted to look at. It's still for rent, but didn't have the same finishes.
driving the country roads to the next place---in Kathleen.
Lots of gorgeous houses out here!
and LOTS and LOTS of pecan orchards!
Still had a little time, so we went by another subdivision I've been intrigued with.
There had been two houses for rent here, but that was before we were serious enough to pursue them
This was one of them---$1500/month.
more of the beautiful countryside
on to our first viewing.
looked OK from the outside. At $1050/month, I figured there had to be something wrong with it for it to still be available.
and there was---plenty!
Soon we were on our way again.
The agent told us she had a property becoming available soon in a nice subdivision along our way. So we drove through it.
Hard to believe these would be in the same price range. Pretty nice established subdivision.
She didn't tell us the address, just that it was on this street.
I'm thinking this might be it. Too bad she never called us with an update.
I'm excited to see palm trees again! I always said I need to live where palm trees grow, just didn't think that would be Georgia.
Next property was in Wooden Eagle.
Nice quiet subdivision.
Love the porch.
living room had interesting ceiling.
adequate back yard with woods behind it. Small but nice patio
nice bedroom.
nice appearance from the street.
Not bad for $1350/month. We liked it enough that we drove to the agent's office to put in an application for it. Unfortunately, there we were told an application was accepted just that morning for the property. (They called us on May 1st to say it was back on the market, but by then we had decided to try and buy a house).
They said they had another one we might like. So we followed an agent there. It had an impressive, if not scary driveway!
Ken said no before we even went in.
It was rough! Even at $1400/month.
and somewhat weird.
the house from the street.
Back to the kids' house.
Now we were back watching the baby and pups.
The guest house. The kids generously offered to let us stay here indefinitely. But Ken is hesitant with the steps and privacy---both for the kids and us.
Daddy and Layla
Another big step done on this huge move! It's been quite the past couple weeks---couple years, actually!
