4-24-18  STL - Buford:

The 6 nights in St. Louis really went quickly.  We thought about stopping in Knoxville for another night or two, but Ken was anxious to get another trailer load of stuff to Perry (and our other car), so we just headed straight back to Buford.

Of course we didn't even get out of north county before getting stopped for an accident.
It merged down to 1 lane.  We got there as they were putting this poor guy on a back board.  Hope he's OK.

Good bye St. Louis.

Hello Illinois

the historic Eads Bridge.
the Mid America airport in Belleville.  Sure looked like a lot of cars there.  They built this airport with the attitude that build it and they will come.  Sure took a long time for them to come!
Back to checking out the Midwest barns.

they seem to like white barns in Illinois.

Looked like we might hit some bad weather.
one of the many large crosses throughout the countryside.
an old historic mansion turned Kentucky visitors center in Paducah.  We keep saying we're going to stop there some day.  This wasn't that day.
Love the clouds
and the countryside
lots of yellow in Kentucky

another view of the YellaWood barn

the yellow fields again.
spectacular!

don't see silos too often anymore.

back in Tennessee where they like red barns.

One of the many roadside overflow waterfalls along I-24
Lots of rain lately so the little waterfalls were really flowing.
The South Eastern Tennessee Mountains.
coming down into Chattanooga.
Usually there's some sort of traffic problems here, but we hit it at the right time!
more waterfalls
Finally back in Georgia just as the sun was setting.
Since we lost an hour due to the time change, and we stopped to visit with David and Jane again, it was dark before we got home to Buford. Another part to the busy month that I wasn't looking forward  to, but I did end up enjoying it.
