Angie, Josh, and I are very much "beach people"! So we planned to make this a beach day---right after breakfast at the Sea Cow restaurant.
Layla ready for her first beach day ever!
How she spent the first half hour or so at the beach!
The water is murky here in Edisto, but it still feels great. So we waded out a bit. Felt some what assured that if there were hungry sharks out there today, they would have lots of choices. The beach was pretty busy.
She LOVED the beach. We have another beach person!

We enjoyed a few beverages on the beach, too.
The breeze was wonderful and warm.
Cheers!!! It's been way too long since we've been to the beach. We did this quite regularly when we lived in South Florida.
Thought this contrail was interesting how the white ended and there was a dark line to the horizon.
Time to let Layla feel the ocean.
family photo first.
She was a bit startled by the wave coming up over her legs.
right before she decided she didn't like it.
Mom makes it OK.

the other way again.
Looking towards our little piece of the beach.
Heading in---without Layla.
The water had to be about 83 degrees. The air was about 89.
But in the shade, the breeze made it perfect.
Taking my turn on the beach with Layla.
One more beverage.
joined by a few sea birds.
Layla back to being really happy.
heading in one more time.
Loving the clouds, too!
back to the shade.
After about 3 hours on the beach, we decided to pick up frozen pizzas from the grocery store and stay in for dinner. Good thing we did! About the time we got them heated up, the skies opened up and we got a pretty good storm for about an hour or so.
The "service" dogs in the unit above us didn't like the storm. Apparently their owner left them there while they went out for the evening. There were 2 dogs above us howling and barking until the storm was over. I know Wyndham has to allow service animals, but I'm sure this was a case of abusing that law.
It was pretty impressive---lots of lightening and thunder.
But it ended before sunset, so we were able to head to the bay to see if we'd get a pretty one. This rainbow was a bonus.
Looked promising.

I'm amazed at how intriguing babies find phone screens.
She even laughs at videos of her crying.
Not the most spectacular sunset, but not bad!
looking South.
Looking North.
West.
It was a beautiful evening. And the sunset lasted a long time. We got to wonder around and take too many pictures.
How I love the beach!!!!
