5-13-18 More celebrating---Mothers' Day:

It was a great mother's day!  Got to spend it here with Angie, Josh, Carol, Darrel, and even Tim and Faith.  They drove down yesterday to help celebrate the adoption.  Appropriately it is also Mother's Day weekend!
Faith and Angie like to Snapchat each other and me.  I like getting their funny photo creations.  Like this one of Layla.
Tim and Faith getting to know their new niece a  little better.
Angie's first Mother's Day
Layla laughing it up.
Josh playing with Layla.
Heading out to Mother's Day lunch.
We went to this cute old Victorian house turned restaurant---The Swanson House.
It was a great time had by all
The menu --- I had the baked ham, broccoli and rice casserole and green beans

Choosing our meals.
?????
Time to get back to eating salads!
The happy bunch.
When we got back to the house, Faith commented on the fruit on the tree in their front yard.  So we hit the internet until we found out what they are---Loquats!
They are a native plant of China.  The fruits are the sweetest when soft and orange. The flavor is a mixture of peach, citrus and mild mango.  They happened to be tree ripe right now and very flavorful!
I discovered they peeled very easily and the seeds came out easily, too.  So I picked a bunch and prepared them for freezing.  We figure they should go great in smoothies.
Back to time with Layla.
Auntie Faith and Layla
Tim and Faith had to hit the road and head back to Knoxville, but not before we made Tim hold Layla.  Looks like Layla liked it!
Another Mother's Day Snapchat
After Tim and Faith left, Angie came over to "our" place and even got the tv to work.  The remote was changing channels on the main house tv.  She somehow got it programmed to work on the guest house tv.  She and Tim sure are technical geniuses!

and another very memorable Mother's Day comes to an end!
