11-4-17  back to Gibb's Garden with the guys:

Angie and I enjoyed our trip to Gibb's so much a couple days ago that we wanted to make---I mean let---the guys enjoy it, too.  So Sat. we headed back there.  It was another beautiful Fall day---again near 80.  More clouds today so the lighting for pictures was trickier, but it was still great.
Heading in
seemed a lot more leaves had fallen since Thurs.

Heading past the lily ponds to the Japanese Garden
 the guys charging ahead.
looking back at the van gogh bridge and the colorful maples

Still a lot of lilies and their reflections.
A rainbow pond!  It wasn't like this 2 days ago.
LOVE watching enthusiastic kids.  Hope that doesn't make me a stalker.
just a typical fall scene in the Japanese garden
love all the little statues in the Japanese Gardens
 another little bridge.
Josh working his way into someone's photo
the trail off the main trail
what can I say?!
 more statues

 a statue trying to hide
 colorful maple leaves

 so many colors
the kids getting ready to take a selfie

that statue keeps finding it's way into my pictures!

At this point Ken gave up.  We told him to make his way back to the outdoor cafe near the entrance and we'd go check out the Gibb's house, then meet him there.

We skipped the "wild flower" garden this time, but did find a wild flower or 2 on our way to the house.
 found a stream, too.
 more of the stream.
a walk through the fern garden---they didn't look to be doing too well.
cutting back through the Japanese Garden on our way to the house.
 passing the stream again.
some of the woods on the other side of the stream from the Japanese Garden.

gotta go just about all the way through the Japanese Garden to get to the path up to the house.
crossing over the stream again on our way up to the house.
 a little grassy knoll.
another little pond across from the Japanese Garden
this little guy stood guard about half way up the hill to the house.
almost to the house is this walkway.  It was really pretty when the vines on it were blooming.
looking down the "lawn" from the above walkway
Up by the house is the pool.  LOVE this pool and jacuzzi.  Here Josh is "on your mark".
another view of the pool with the jacuzzi to the right.
a view of the house from the pool area.
view of the house from the front.  My Gibb's still lives here.  He spends much of his time in the gift shop talking to visitors.
looking down from in front of the house.
He even has a slight mountain view.
one of the many entrances to his house.
 heading back down.

love all the landscaping near the house.

some kids enjoying the lawn down from the lower walkway.
not a bad place to walk
 hydrangea?
 about half way down
looking back at the trail up to the house on the other side of the tram road (and driveway to the house).  The tram is $5 extra.
one of the sculptures on the hill on our way down.
 back to the lower level
love how these leaves look like fur from a distance.

almost back to the cafe and looking back at the lily pond area.
Ken was here waiting for us.  We sat and rested a short while, then continued on our 1/2 miles or so to where we had to park.
 Bye bye Mr. Tree.
Thought these long skinny pumpkins were cute.
It was another great outing.  Hope the guys enjoyed it as much as we did!
