Our time on the north shore is winding down. So we wanted to try and get to Tunnels, and/or Kee again. Tunnels was full as expected, but we lucked into someone leaving Kee right when we pulled up. So we took that as a sign that this is where we should be.
Seems most snorkelers hang out far to the right of the beach. But this is where more of the fish and coral are.
another pretty calm day.
just adding a few fish that I don't think I included yesterday. Orange spine surgeonfish
unicorn surgeonfish
a school of baby teardrop butterfly fish
a school of coronet fish
one of the larger coronet fish
school of ring tail surgeonfish
school of convict tangs
a large moray eel
a school of "bait" fish that just happened into the bay.
heading back to the beach.
back on land
We only spent 1 1/2 hour snorkeling today. After drying in the sun a bit, we headed into Hanalei for lunch. We were headed to Bubba Burgers, then saw Hanalei Gourmet and decided to check it out. Lunch was good as was the outside seating on the old school porch.
best of all was their smoothie! I forget what all was in it, but it was really good! I'm hoping for another one tomorrow!
one of the flowers in the landscaping around the old school.
more landscaping.
There was suppose to be wine and beer tasting and live music at The Cliffs at 5:30. So we went back to the condo and showered and got ready to go to it. Ken called to find out if there was a fee for the wine and beer tasting or if it was included in the $75 activity fee we paid for the week. They told him it was cancelled. We did have some rain at 5:30, but it was suppose to be in the pavilion. Had we known it was going to be cancelled, we would have hit the pool!
About 6:10, I left to find a spot for sunset. Went to the lookout just past the taro lookout.
The clouds were quite heavy.
I thought maybe the Hanalei Pier would be a better place for today's sunset, but I got there a little too late.
Hard to believe a week from now we'll be home!
