5-6-18 packing and one last trip to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens in Gainesville:

After spending much of the last few days packing and running to the trash compactor, Ken asked if I'd like to go to the Atlanta Botanical Garden in Gainesville today.  Of course I said yes!  So in the mid afternoon, we headed up to the gardens.
The plants have certainly grown since we were here for the tulips.

I love how they plant over the tulips and it looks like a different garden now.
Still beautiful and very lush
We didn't know it, but they are having a special exhibit at the Atlanta Gardens right now where they've made these critters out of wire frames with plants added to it.
Heading around the garden.
a type of rose?
Pinks?  They sure make a pretty ground cover.

Love the little creek  here.

Can't believe how much more lush it is now then it was a month ago.

I'm surprised they don't have more irises
never seen flowers like these before.  wish they weren't so far off the trail so I could have gotten a better picture of them.
love the texture and design of these leaves.
more of the stream
more wierd flowers.

Cute full size panda bears!

We were on our way out when one of the employees asked if we'd seen the ogre.  No, we hadn't.  We could see tents up there, so didn't bother going that way.  Glad she mentioned it.
Last year there was still a whimsy stick building here.  But the weather finally brought it down.  I wonder how long this guy will be here?
Some of the flowers by the ogre.

On the way out I stopped to enjoy the many shades of pansies.  Love these guys!
more plain ones.

From there we headed to Huddle House for a late lunch/early dinner.  Nothing fancy, but good comfort food.
Back at the apartment, it was back to purging and packing.
