1-6-17 snow and ice:
Time to head back over to Alton for another eye appointment---Ken's 1 week after surgery follow up. All went well there. Other then complaining of a "hairlike" line in his peripheral vision which the Dr. said some people experience and should go away in time---he's seeing as good as ever. Must be nice to have never needed glasses (except for reading glasses for really small print now)! I've had glasses since 4th grade.
Since we were out by the river, we decided to check it out.
We're in a deep freeze right now so the ponds are freezing and the little bit of snow we got is sticking around.
It is an interesting site seeing the flowing ice chunks that are making their way down from the far North!
one lonely bench!
In the evening, we headed the other direction to Eureka, Mo., to meet up with most of the LaBeaume brothers and their wives. We were even treated to this very pretty sunset during our drive.
Considering I shot these with my old samsung 4g phone camera, I think they turned out pretty good! It's amazing how good the newer phone cameras are now!!!
We met the clan at Joe Boccardi's Restaurant.
Dinner and our visit was great, albeit too short. The place was packed, so we didn't linger too long. Soon we were back on our way home. Note the exterior temperature----13! WAY too COLD for me!!! Was pretty much like that for a week or so.
My plans of going to Hawaii in Aug. instead of our usual Jan/Feb. time period since I thought we wouldn't be in St. Louis then seems to have some flaws in it!
