Since Angie and Josh were heading back to St. Louis for Christmas this year and we had yet more Dr. appointments the next week, we left a few days before Christmas and went to spend Tim's birthday with him and Faith in Knoxville on our way to St. Louis. It was a short visit, only 2 nights, but we planned to spend a few more nights with them on our way back to Georgia.
We got there on the 21st. The next day Tim took his birthday off work and we ran around to a few stores with him. First to a huge very well organized used book store---McKay's. I'm not an avid reader, but I did thoroughly enjoy looking around this store. Loved the book Christmas tree they had by the entrance:
Then he was on the hunt for some new work shoes. Who am I to complain about going to a shoe store!?
When Faith got home from work, we headed off to dinner at a really good steak house, Connors Steak and Seafood Restuarant. It was so popular, that we had to wait about 40 minutes for a table, but it was worth the wait.
My dinner was excellent
As was Ken's. I believe the "kids" really liked their meals, too.
We told them it was Tim's birthday, so the waitress brought out a strawberry cake for him.
It even had a candle for him to blow out.
It was large enough for us all to eat from.
After dinner, we went in search of some Christmas lights. I had complained that it didn't seem like Christmas since we didn't have decorations at our place in Georgia and the cruiseship we were just on wasn't decorated, either. Tim and Faith knew of a walk through light display at a nearby park, so we spent a half hour or so wandering around it.
Cute displays, and free!
But they wouldn't let me play volleyball!
or ride the train!
Since they were working the next day and we were leaving then for St. Louis, we had a little X-mas celebration.
Even Clawdine joined in the celebrating.
Then Grandpa spoiled the "grandkids" with treats.
It was a fun day. Hard to believe I have a 38 year old now!!!
