8-9-16 walking part of the Ivy Creek Greenway---

On my usual bike ride, I come to a platform overlooking the West and the million dollar bridge to nowhere.  I thought this might be a good place to catch a sunset.  So I decided to walk there and check that out.  From our apartment it's only about a mile, but is the hilly part of the trail.  It was a nice walk---albeit a bit humid.
Just down from our apartment---a car wash and vacuum station.  Can't say that I've ever seen anyone using it!  Of course it is coin operated, not free.
the pathway leading down from the apartments to the Ivy Creek Greenway.

Another very expensive bridge, I'm sure, just outside the apartment complex.
This one twists and turns several times.
Some of the foliage by the bridge.
Just past the bridge is this sign.  I'm heading towards the Wildlife Observation trail (which is suppose to lead to the Suwanee Greenway future expansion trail).
heading left
heading up the first "hill".  It's seems much steeper on a bike!
 still going up
complete with benches along the way.
This is at the bottom of the first hill.  Gotta slow down or hit the pole.
 alongside the trail
across the little bridge and heading back up.
 on to the next bridge.
And on to the longgggg hill!
There's the viewing platform about half way down the hill.
 closer view.
 nice large platform.
looking from the platform to the West and the fancy bridge to nowhere.
turned out to not be that great of a spot for sunset.  At least not today.
Heading back to the apartment.  Love how the pinecones here already look like the tips are painted.
 another rustic seat?
another view off to the side of the trail.
Ivy Creek from the winding bridge near the apartments.
 back to the winding bridge
pretty wild flowers along the way

There are a bunch of these, too.  Earlier in the summer they were a pretty white bunch of blooms.  Now they look like they have been dried and preserved.
Back to the area connecting to the apartments.  Nice big picnic area overlooking the creek with bar b q pit.  Never seen anyone using this area, either.
Still searching for the "Loxahatchee sunset area of Buford".  I use to complain about always going to Loxahatchee for sunset when we lived in Florida, but it was pretty perfect for sunsets!
