10-8-17  Gainesville ATL Botanical garden:

Angie and Josh asked us a couple days ago if we wanted to go to the garden with them Sat. (today).  Of course I said we did---didn't even give Ken the choice.  The kids' membership is expiring soon.    We were going to go to the garden, then to the winery Angie and I went to for the solar eclipse, but they decided it was too hot and humid to spend anymore time outside then for the garden.  We're still having temps in the upper 80's with high humidity and heat indexes in the 90's.
It was another special event at the gardens---Fall Woodland Ramble and Goblins in the Garden. Along with a lot of scarecrows throughout the gardens, there were a lot of booths with merchandise for sale in them.
The walkway up to the entrance.  It certainly is still really lush and green here!
They should have also added---don't touch the Lego creations!  I picked up the witch to show Angie and the hat wasn't on tight.  Yep, the face fell and pieces scattered.  Fortunately we spent a fortune on Lego's when the kids were small and Angie was able to quickly reassemble it!  Then she made me leave the building.

The first scarecrow. It was titled "Twisted Sisters".
The next one.  I'm not sure who made all these, but I did see schools were involved in some of them.
 sneaky cat.
 scare crow unicorn?
It wasn't crowded, but there were more people there then we normally see.
looks like the doll I made Angie when she was little.  She always said it was spooky.
It wasn't raining, but it had rained earlier and it was so humid that it wasn't evaporating.
 A band member scare crow.

Even some of the foliage was Halloween-like.
Ingenious head for a scare crow---a gallon sized milk container!
lots of color in the garden still.

 love these red leaves.
 and yellow flowers
Ken even got to play with the train.
 pretty purple flowers.
 cute little man made stream
Love the way these look with the water droplets on them.
 scarecrow in the box
 van Gogh,  I presume.
 The guys

 interesting fluffy plant stuff.
close up of the van Gogh painted pumpkin.
love how they made flowers out of the paint tubes.
Another milk jug face scare crow.

 he even photo-bombed us!

 along the walk.
 a hay bale scare crow
 Orchids?
Another interesting media for the face---a shovel!

 Loved these cats!
 gourd cats!
 love the sunflowers.
 a skinny bride.

Possibly my favorite---spiders are always scary!
This one was possibly the most ingenious---a Square Crow!
looking back towards the scary spider
Ken is amazed by how easily the trees around Georgia blow over.  With 2 tropical storms in less than a month, there have been a lot of trees toppled.
 The back of the entrance
Love the blooms floating in with the water lilies.

 some of the booths
We need some of these!  The kids bought a hydrangea---the color to be determined when it blooms.
The Wizard of Oz Scare Crow----it just dawned on me that the wood art resembles tornadoes!
from inside the tornado looking out.
Almost back to the car, but I couldn't resist the water covered flowers again.  This time a bee photo bombed my picture.
So glad they like to include us in activities!  We even went to their place for Sunday social turned Saturday social since they'll be gone tomorrow night.  Great homemade pizza and I whipped up on them in Mexican Train dominoes---for a change!
