12-20-17  Big news!!!!!!

Today was a busy day for us.  Since we still call St. Louis our residence, there's residence stuff to do whenever we're there---like yard work, car maintenance, banking, ... .  After getting some of that done, we headed off for lunch.  Tried to go to a favorite pizza place a couple miles from our house only to find it packed full.  Then I remembered it was Wed.----50% off Ameristar casino buffet day!  So we went there.
Now this is a favorite place to eat when we're back in town.  I didn't know about this special when we lived there.  Wasn't until one of our trips back when a friend whom I reconnected with after moving away told us about it.
While we were eating, I got a call from Angie.   They have been working on adopting a baby through the Christian agency, Bethany, for over a year now---about 5 months of doing all the stuff the agency makes you do before you're approved, then waiting for a birth mother to choose them for their baby.  They'd been approved for about 10 months and had submitted "profile books" (what the birth mother looks at to decide who gets her baby) about 18 times.  They were narrowed down to 2 or 3 adoptive families a couple of times, but hadn't been picked as the finalist.  So when Angie posted on her Facebook Storkwatch site that they had submitted another profile request on Friday,   we didn't get too excited.  Especially since the birth mother's profile said she was looking for a family with other children.  Then on Sunday, while I was out at some shops with Tim and Faith, she texted that she had news.  I called right back and she said the mother narrowed her choice down to only them and wanted to meet with them on Wed.!  Today is Wed.!  The meeting went really well and the mother wanted them to take the baby.  In Georgia, the birth mother has 10 days to revoke that decision, so the baby usually stays in interim care during that time.  But with the holidays, her revocation time was extended since the office was closed for some of the holidays.  Instead of leaving the baby in interim care (where she was for about a week already), Angie and Josh, and the birth mother, agreed they should pick up the little girl tomorrow.  Looks like it's finally going to happen!!!!  Their 10 years of trying to have a baby and then waiting to adopt looks like it is finally coming to an end!
