After my 10am Dr. appointment with the endocrinologist, we hit the road back to Atlanta. Angie and Josh are heading to St. Louis for a baptism on the 7th and we promised to granddog sit again.
Weather was great again.
Lots more barns to see.
and farms
I'm intrigued by all the different shapes and degree of deterioration of barns.
the more deteriorated, the more interesting!

Thought we were moving along pretty well, then we came to a complete stop near Nashville. While we sat in the accident traffic, I snapped these of the wild flowers along the road.
inching along----
some trees beginning to change colors.
A couple trips ago we finally found a bypass around Nashville---Briley Parkway / TN-155. It goes right past the Grand Ole Opry.
Nearing sunset.
the warm late afternoon sun again.
love when the pink sky appears in the East.
Got near Chattanooga before the sun finally set.
It was another short trip to St. Louis. I sure didn't think we'd be heading back to St. Louis so often! When we were in South Florida, I didn't go back to St. Louis at all. At least the ride isn't too bad and, time permitting, we can stop in Knoxville and visit Tim and Faith for a couple days.
