3-31-18 Easter Pool Party:
One nice thing about apartment living---at least here---is that they do try to have "parties" for the residents about once every month or so. Usually we're gone when they have them, but this time we were around. So we decided to go on up to it. I was a little surprised at how few people were there. But we did chat with a couple residents we hadn't seen before. Didn't see anyone we knew from before.
They even had hotdogs and chips for everyone. Been a long time since I had a hotdog. It was pretty tasty!
The pool was still quite cold. A couple hearty kids did get in it, but it was still too cold for us. The "heated" pool they promised us last year never happened. Hopefully they got the pumps fixed. Hopefully we'll get to get in it again before we move.
Gonna miss our pool. But, at least Angie and Josh's new house has a pool. I'm sure we'll be getting a lot of use out of it. Just a little over a week and we'll be helping them move!

3-30-18 a walk along Ivy Creek
Haven't been on the trail for a couple weeks. So I had Ken drop me off up by Costco on our way home from dinner and I went down to the trail for a little walk. Wanted to check out what Springtime things were happening there.
Don't know what these little bell like flowers are, but they were cute.
as were these little yellow flowers
I also don't know what these purple hanging flowers are, but they grow all over the trees this time of year. Pretty now, but a parasite to the tree.
The falls at the old mill was really roaring today. We did have lots of rain last night. But, at least it's warming up finally! All week it's suppose to be getting up in the 70s, although I'm not sure it made it there today.
Dang phone camera didn't know what I wanted it to focus on.
Gonna miss the greenway, too. Wonder what I'll find by our next place?!

3-29-18 Layla is 4 months old today!
Layla is Four Months old today!
Our little Stinker Belle is cuter than! This morning she weighed in at 12 pounds, 6 ounces and measures about 23.5" long - which puts her just under the 15th percentile for both her height and weight.
Layla is talking more than ever and is trying her darndest to repeat "I Love You". She's really digging her new Rainforest Jumperoo (even though her feet barely touch the ground) and she earned her first paycheck at a modeling gig this past week.

3-28-18 ATL Botanical Gardens with Angie and Layla----and new trailer:
Angie was wanting to get back up to the Gainesville botanical gardens before they move and since my reciprocal membership allows me to take a guest in, we picked today to go.
We even went to lunch at one of the cute little restaurants in Gainesville's downtown square---Avocados. I decided to try something new in the way of a salad. It had quinoa in it. I really liked it! Also really liked the half turkey BLT with my salad. Would definitely order that lunch again!
Then we headed to the garden.
loved the shadows on this pipe
don't know what these purplish flowering trees are near the parking lot, but they were pretty.
Heading in
I was afraid the tulips would be blown out since last week, but they were still looking great.
I guess the cold weather we had until today kept everything fresh.
looking back on the visitors' center.
The tulips were beginning to blow, but at this point it just made them prettier.
Layla looked amused
Wonder what she was thinking---first time seeing something like this!
She probably thinks flowers stink---there was a lot of fertilizer!
she also probably thought it sure is bright!
selfie time
an especially pretty tulip
the daffodils were still doing well, too.
more flowers starting to bloom
the bees were busy
one of the stalks of daffodils
camellias starting to bloom?
and magnolias?
back to the tulips
Layla was a happy girl
love her smile
more uniquely pretty tulips
a ruffly tulip?
Layla smiling some more
too bad she isn't always this happy!
and inquisitive
and stern
love the little water fall, too.
a type of magnolia?
another really different and exceptionally beautiful tulip
a whole group of them
more of the cascading waterfall
and the ground cover.
Looks like the painter Ken and I saw last week finished up her painting today
Springtime!!!!
This is probably a parasitic plant, but it looks pretty right now.
looking back at the beginning of the loop
Angie pointed these footprints out.
a few more gorgeous daffodils
another look back at the trail
the pansies in the pots
deep purple tulips---blood tulips?
giant tulips
interesting tulips in the planters by the entrance.
I mentioned to Angie that these reminded me of Easter. She said they remind her of the 4th of July. I didn't think of that before, but with the red, white and blue flowers, it is 4th of July like
Guess it could be Christmas like, too, with just the red and white ones.
When Angie dropped me off at our apartment, Ken was gone. Found out he finally went out and bought a 5x8 covered trailer. He's been wanting one for years. About time he finally went and bought one! Wonder if we'll actually use it?! It is a pretty one. Nicely matches the Edge.
Gonna miss that garden!!! It's such a nice little garden in a nice little town. Hope I find something like that around Perry!
